King’s Chinese BBQ has opened its sixth Maui location at Puʻunene Shopping Center, expanding its footprint two decades after the restaurant first launched in Lahaina.

Known for its hearty portions, affordable prices and popular dishes like honey walnut shrimp, roast duck and orange chicken, the locally owned restaurant offers dine-in and takeout service.

The new location is open 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as catering.

“As longtime Maui residents, we’re excited to expand to Kahului,” said co-owner Doug Cao in a news release. “We saw a need for more affordable, high-quality Chinese food in this area.”

The restaurant joins the lineup at the Puʻunene Shopping Center, which is owned and operated by Alexander & Baldwin.

“King’s Chinese BBQ brings a strong local following and a reputation for great food at reasonable prices,” said Michael Oh, senior property manager at A&B. “We’re happy to welcome them to the center.”
