Maui Arts & Cultural Center exhibition celebrates 30 years of arts and culture

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will celebrate its 30-year milestone with “Three Decades,” an exhibition in Schaefer International Gallery running from April 15 to June 13.

According to the MACC, the exhibition takes a retrospective look at the center’s history through archives, artwork, video and original architectural models. The exhibition includes sections on visual arts, performing arts, Hawaiian cultural programs and arts education, with recreated installations and concert memorabilia.

“We took a deep dive through the archives as we looked back at the origins of the MACC and its three-decade journey,” said Jonathan Clark, gallery director. “This is a chance to tell a few of the stories and revisit the countless memories that have happened here since the beginning, reminding us of the vitality the arts bring to all ages of the community.”

Admission is free, and the gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and before select shows. The exhibition is presented by the MACC and supported in part by the Maui County Office of Economic Development.
