The Shops at Wailea is home to a new restaurant helmed by a Maui husband and wife team utilizing local ingredients.

Destination Hospitality Group, a Colorado-based company that originated the Aurum brand, announced on Tuesday the official opening of Aurum Maui, the brand’s first Hawaii location.

Led by locally rooted partners, Chef Partner Taylor Ponte and Natasha Ponte, the restaurant brings a refined yet approachable “new American” dining experience to the heart of Wailea’s thriving culinary scene. Aurum Maui opened on Saturday.

The restaurant’s menu offers a globally inspired interpretation of American cuisine, celebrating Maui’s diverse culinary heritage with the island’s freshest ingredients.

“It’s incredibly meaningful for my wife Natasha and I to bring a local lens to the Aurum experience,” said Taylor Ponte. “We’re not only utilizing Hawaii’s ingredients, we’re telling stories through them. Every dish reflects our roots, our growth and the richness of this place we call home.”

Aurum Maui, located at 3750 Wailea Alanui Drive, is open daily for lunch and dinner from noon-9 p.m. with Happy Hour from 3- 5 p.m.
