The Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation will celebrate recreation in all its forms this month by offering a series of free, family-friendly events on Maui, Molokai and Lanai.
The celebration includes movie nights and recreational activities designed to encourage community togetherness. All movie screenings will begin at sunset, unless otherwise noted. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks, nonalcoholic beverages, low-back chairs and blankets.
Movies will be held in Maui at Kamaole Beach Park (July 11), Hana ballpark field (July 12), Lahaina Civic Center (July 16), Eddie Tam field in Makawao (July 18) and War Memorial Complex (July 25).
On Molokai, there will be movie nights at Mitchell Pauole Center on July 11 and at the Lanai Park Complex gym at 6:30 pm July 11.
In addition to movie nights, other county events include a beginner's pickleball clinic on Maui from 8 to 9:30 a.m. July 18 at the War Memorial Complex tennis courts.
On Lanai, there will be a family kickball event from 4-6 p.m. July 16 at the Lanai Park Complex Little League Field.
