ʻŌiwi Resources to open grant applications Aug. 20
The Maui County Department of ʻŌiwi Resources is inviting community-based organizations to apply for grant funding that protects the cultural resources of Maui Nui and strengthens community connections to Hawaiian knowledge.
Grant applications will be accepted starting Aug. 20. The deadline to apply is Oct. 15.
There will be a free webinar at 4 p.m. Aug. 20 to offer an overview of the application process, including eligibility criteria, project narrative and budget and required documents. To register for the webinar, go to www.mauicounty.gov/2832/Oiwi-Resources-Grants.
The average amount awarded is expected to range from $25,000 to $50,000, but the amount of funding per award will be determined once the applications are reviewed.
