Maui OnStage will host auditions for “The Rocky Horror Show” from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 8 and 11 a.m.-1 p.m Aug. 9 at the Iao Theater in Wailuku.
“The Rocky Horror Show” is a high-energy rock ‘n’ roll tribute to sci-fi and B-horror movies, bursting with outrageous characters, cult-classic songs and electrifying moments.
Featuring hits like “Time Warp,” “Sweet Transvestite,” and “Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me,” “The Rocky Horror Show” is billed as an interactive, boundary-pushing celebration of self-discovery, liberation and unapologetic fun.
Eric Gillion, an award-winning musician and entertainer, will play Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter in the production. All other roles are open.
According to organizers, auditioners should prepare one comedic monologue up to 90 seconds long, and up to 24 bars of an uptempo rock song. Those interested can bring recorded accompaniment.
A bluetooth speaker will be provided for the phone or device. Potential performers should bring a photo and resume and arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Video auditions will be accepted for those unable to attend in person. The video submission deadline is 6 p.m. Aug. 7.
Auditioners must be at least 18 years old.
