Gas prices across Hawaii inched up in most areas over the past week ahead of the holiday weekend.

According to AAA Hawaii, the statewide average price for regular unleaded was $4.47 as of Aug. 28, which is one cent more than last week and 19 cents lower than this time last year.

The average price in Kahului was $4.50, which is seven cents more than last week and 20 cents lower than a year ago.

The average national price was $3.21, which is eight cents higher than last week and 19 cents less than a year ago.
