Gov. Green appoints two Maui residents to tourism advisory board
Two Maui residents were among 12 individuals recently appointed by Gov. Josh Green to the reorganized Hawaii Tourism Authority Advisory Board.
The appointments follow the resignation of the previous board earlier this summer after the governor called for new leadership to address concerns over governance and alignment with state priorities.
The Maui appointees include Leah Belmonte, director of human resources for Mahi Pono LLC and a former human resource leader with Ritz-Carlton Kapalua and Diamond Resorts.
She is joined by Lisa Paulson, who was reappointed.
Paulson is the chief executive officer of Maui Food Bank and a former Maui Hotel and Lodging Association leader. Appointments are subject to confirmation by the state Senate.
