The Kula Community Association will host its next general meeting from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Kula Community Center with the focus on emergency preparedness and water issues.

Maui Police Chief John Pelletier and Emergency Management Director Amos Lonokailua-Hewitt are scheduled to speak. County Archaeologist Janet Six will provide updates on the culturally significant Von Tempsky parcel, and Maui County Councilmember Tom Cook will speak about water and infrastructure priorities.

The meeting is open to the public. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with food and a brief social gathering.
