Fifteen years after founding Maui Open Studios, Carolyn Quan announced her retirement last month from producing and organizing studio events.
The popular annual art event will now be produced and organized by Art Maui, an established local nonprofit organization.
According to a news release, Art Maui’s mission is to champion Maui County visual artists of all ages, disciplines, and levels of experience. They curate expert-led immersive exhibitions, educational programming and content to bolster professional opportunities. The group is also committed to inspiring creativity and connectivity across culturally diverse communities and awarding scholarships to Maui’s youth for extended learning.
Maui Open Studios event will now be added as one of Art Maui's ongoing programs.
