Hawaii gas prices were mostly steady this past week, according to the AAA Hawaii.

As of Thursday, the statewide average price for regular unleaded was $4.47, which is the same as last week and 17 cents lower than this time last year.

The average price in Kahului was $4.46, which is two cents lower than last week and 24 cents lower than a year ago.

In Honolulu, the average price for regular unleaded gas was $4.38.

“Nationwide, AAA reports that gas demand is dropping as we enter the fall months and pump prices should also drop,” said Liane Sumida, general manager of AAA Hawaii.
