The return of the Maui County Fair brought more than 116,000 people to the fairgrounds at War Memorial Stadium Complex from Thursday to Sunday.
County officials announced the four-day attendance totals Monday after previously revealing that nearly 30,000 people attended the fair on opening day and over 3,000 participated in the fair’s kickoff parade.
The Maui County Fair returned this year for its 98th installment following a six-year break that started as the COVID pandemic was wreaking havoc across the island and the world.
According to organizers, attendance at the fair included 27,997 on the first day, 26,538 on Friday, 27,997 on Saturday and 33,491 on Sunday to bring total attendance over all four days to 116,614.
“This year’s fair wasn’t just an event — it was a homecoming,” said Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen, who led efforts to bring the fair back this year.
“Mahalo to the many hands that made the 98th Maui County Fair and Parade possible, along with the tens of thousands of residents who made new memories together,” Bissen continued. “The well-being of our people remains one of my top priorities, and we look forward to a hana hou for the fair in 2026.”
During the fair, more than 40 nonprofit food booths and scores of local vendors brought a wide variety of crafts and goods. Contests at the fair included the popular Baby of the Year contest as well as events featuring orchids, student art, livestock, e-sports and more.
The fair also put up four nights of entertainment with award-winning musicians such as Grammy Award-winning Kalani Peʻa, the new band ‘Āinaty, Nuff Sedd and many more.
E.K. Fernandez set up the fair rides and dozens of carnival games lined the fair with prizes for the winners.
The fair kicked off with a large parade down Kaahumanu Avenue and former Mayor Michael Victorino, a major supporter of the Maui County Fair for years, served as the grand marshal.
