Seabury advances to semifinals in DII girls volleyball state tournament

Seabury Hall defeated Hawaii Baptist in five sets Thursday night in the quarterfinal round of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II girls volleyball state tournament.
The Spartans won 23-25, 25-4, 27-25, 19-25, 15-9, to advanced to face Maryknoll (9-10) in the semifinal round Friday.
In Thursday’s match, Spartans sophomore Milaniakai Padilla recorded a game-high 26 kills with 14 digs, five aces and two assists, and Seabury Hall sophomore Tulsi Erlemann had 16 digs, five assists and two aces.
Sophomore Dillon McLellan added 17 kills and three digs for the Spartans. Senior Clia Kafka had 13 kills and 10 digs, and Destiny Keomaka-Wood had 50 assists, seven digs and an ace as the Spartans improved their season record to 18-0.
