The Seabury Hall girls and Maui High boys cross country teams both logged another team victory in the fourth 5,000-meter Maui Interscholastic League race of the season Saturday at Baldwin High School.

Among the girls MIL teams, Seabury Hall has posted the top individual times and team scores throughout the season. On Saturday, the Spartans posted similar results, as the team was again led by senior Freya Carlsen, who won the race with a time of 20:22.

The course ran a little slower than other races this year, as none of the girls were able to break the 20-minute mark on Saturday. Still, Isabella Grossman (2nd at 21:04), Skyla Prather (3rd at 21:31), Aspen Carver (13th at 24:05) and Nanea Haake (17th at 25:24) rounded out the top five runners for Seabury.

Behind the Spartans, the Kamehameha Maui girls finished second as a team, powered by Halia Maldonado’s sixth-place finish and Leialoha Akiona in seventh.

In third place as a team, Kihei Charter was led by Brooke Hoida (4th at 22:189), and King Kekaulike saw Emily Kermode (6th at 22:53) turn in the top time for Na Ali’i.

In the boys race, Maui High’s Miguel Montano-Gonzales won his first race of the season at 18:47 to help the Sabers take the top spot as a team while the Seabury Hall boys, led by Brady Puno’s second-place finish, took second.

In addition to Montano-Gonzalez, Maui High also saw strong results from Makai Lindsey (3rd at 19:02), Kaito Kina (9th at 19:39) and Carlton Kinkade (10th at 19:48).

With Tatum Dugan Wood (5th at 19:18) and Maundrey Cendana (6th at 19:29) leading the way for Bears, the Baldwin boys finished in a close third as a team, and Kihei Charter was fourth. August Eyerman, who took fourth individually, was Kihei Charter’s top runner, and William Dulay-Jones was the fastest runner on the course for Lanai.
