Shops at Wailea to host Keiki Halloween costume contest Oct. 26

One of Maui's premiere shopping centers will celebrate a much beloved tradition -- Keiki Halloween -- on Oct. 26.
Every year for Halloween, The Shops at Wailea brings families together in a festive environment.
This year's Keiki Halloween will be from 3-7 p.m. Oct. 26 as the shopping center puts out another buffet of family-friendly activities including the popular costume contest.
The contest will be from 5-6:30 p.m. with local judges announcing winners and presenting prizes starting at 6:30 p.m
Registration will be available on-site from 3-4:30 p.m. Participants can also register in advance via Eventbrite at tinyurl.com/5a6kzswf.
For the contest, children, families and pets are all being invited to showcase their most creative, whimsical or spooky costumes. Awards will be presented in categories divided by age groups as well categories for families and pets. However, there can only be one costume and one category entry per contestant.
The grand prize winner will receive two round-trip tickets from Alaska Airlines.
In addition to the costume contest, Brenton Keith & His Bag O' Tricks will perform from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Lower Level Performance Area. Balloon animals will be offered from 3-5 p.m. in the Middle Valley in front of Rip Curl.
From 3-7 p.m., participating merchants marked with balloons will welcome keiki to trick-or-treat throughout the center.
