State offers internships for ag industry

The Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and partners have launched the Hele Imua Internship program to support the state’s agriculture industry.

According to the state, the 12-week program will pair interns with local farmers to strengthen the state’s agricultural workforce. Interns will earn $20 per hour for part-time work up to 19.5 hours per week.

“The future of Hawaii’s food security depends on developing the next generation of farmers and agricultural leaders,” HAF Executive Director Denise Yamaguchi said in a statement.
