A 21-year-old woman died in a rollover wreck Saturday on Honopuni Road in Kula.

On Monday, Maui police identified the woman as Hilalia Villanueva-Langi of Kula.

According to police, Villanueva-Langi was driving a Toyota 4-Runner west on Honopuni Road east of Pulehu Road when she lost control of the vehicle coming around a curve in the road.

After crossing into the opposite lane of traffic, the SUV overcorrected and crossed back over the road before hitting a dirt shoulder. The SUV then overturned as the vehicle re-entered the roadway.

According to police, Villanueva-Langi was not wearing a seatbelt, and she was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the wreck. The investigation is ongoing.
