State health officials are warning the public to say out of high surf and storm water runoff areas after a heavy rain.

The brown water areas may contain overflow from cesspools and sewers, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris. Predators including sharks sometimes frequent mouths of streams after a flood.
