The annual Blessing of the Animals will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 at Keawala’i Congregational Church in Makena.

The church celebrates the blessing of animals in remembrance of St Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures. Kahu Kealahou Alika will officiate the ceremony.

The blessing will be offered for each animal as well as photo opportunities. Arrangements for the day will take into account the needs of the various animals including dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits and other pets.

Dogs must be leashed at all times and other animals must be safely contained.
