The Maui County Department of Transportation will host a virtual community meeting from 6-7 p.m. Dec. 10 to gather feedback on proposed microtransit service for the Kula-Upcountry and Waihee-Kahului areas.

Microtransit is an on-demand, shared transportation option that uses smaller vehicles to provide more flexible service than traditional bus routes. County officials say the model could supplement fixed Maui Bus routes, particularly those with lower ridership.

The meeting will provide an overview of the concept and invite questions and comments from residents. Registration is available through Microsoft Teams at tinyurl.com/mauimicrotransit.
