New Rotary Club launching in South Maui with celebration on Jan. 6
A celebration honoring the launch of the Maluhia Maui Rotary Club will be at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at South Maui Gardens by the Peace Pole.
The gathering in Kihei is expected to bring together an assortment of Rotarians and other people as the new club kicks off.
The event is open to the public, and anyone interested in learning more about Rotary is encouraged to attend.
According to event organizers, attendees can expect a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere with opportunities to connect with other community members and learn how Rotary supports a variety of service projects.
On the new Rotary Club’s calendar, Margo Juarez with Pacific Whale Foundation is scheduled to offer a presentation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 13, and a representative of the Boo Boo Zoo animal refuge in East Maui is scheduled to speak on Jan. 20.
Rotary is a global network of more than 1.4 million people who seek to create positive, lasting change. Rotary Clubs focus on service projects that address needs such as education, health, environmental sustainability and community development while also fostering personal and professional connections among members.
