Visitor spending up on Maui
Even though there were slightly fewer visitor arrivals, visitor spending on Maui was up 11.3% in October compared to the same month last year, according to a state economic analysis.
Spending was $437 million in October 2025, compared to $392.6 million for the same month last year, while the number of visitor arrivals decreased 1.1%.
Visitor spending trends statewide were similar to Maui in October.
Visitor spending was up in the state in October, helping to offset the 2.9% decrease in visitor arrivals for the month.
Total spending by visitors in October was $1.7 billion, a 6.7% increase compared to October 2024.
Visitors in October spent an average of $777 per person, up 12% from the same month last year.
Total visitor arrivals were down by 2.9% to 727,212 in October compared to 749,095 in October 2024.
The average length of stay by visitors in October was 8.21 days, slightly shorter than the 8.36 days average in October 2024.
