Proposed design guidelines for commercial reconstruction within the Lahaina National Historic Landmark District are being presented at 9 a.m. on Jan. 8.

The meeting is before the Maui County Cultural Resources Commission at the Kalana Pakui Building at 250 South High Street.

The 112-page document “Rebuild Lahaina, Commercial Design Guidelines,” includes a draft proposal to extend Luakini Street to Baker Street, as well as encourage more pedestrian traffic.

It also includes a preview draft of the Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan.
