The Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai is offering two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors on Maui who are of Okinawan ancestry or children of members of the Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai.
Applications are available at all Maui high school counselors' offices or from the Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai office in Wailuku. The deadline to apply is March 18.
The Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai is a nonprofit organization committed to perpetuating the Okinawan heritage, culture and arts. Membership is open to everyone.
