Youth musicians are invited to apply for spots in the annual Nā Hōkū ‘Ōpio Young Stars competition playing solo repertoire with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra in conjunction with the annual summer festival.

The competition has been extended to include high school grade levels from 10 to 12th grade. Students who are full-time residents of Hawaii are eligible to submit their audition recordings.

The competition is open to strings, voice, woodwinds, brass, percussion, harp and introducing a composer category.

The deadline to apply is March 12 and April 16 for videos.
