The Hawaii Department of Health issued Maui Beach Ballroom a green placard on Jan. 15, authorizing its reopening after a follow-up inspection showed the cockroach infestation to be eliminated.

All areas of harborage and attractant within the kitchen were also observed to be cleaned and repaired. The establishment was instructed to actively monitor and work with their professional pest control vendor to ensure the cockroach population remains eradicated.

A DOH inspector will conduct a follow-up inspection in a couple weeks to ensure the establishment continues to be compliant with the measures implemented.
