Free tech help available at public libraries
Hawaii’s public libraries are offering free, personalized help to make technology less stressful and more accessible.
In recognition of Digital Learning Day on Feb. 12, the Hawaii State Public Library System is highlighting its team of digital navigators, who are available by appointment at all 50 public libraries statewide, with walk-ins accommodated when possible.
“Technology touches nearly every part of daily life now, but not everyone has had the chance to build those skills,” state librarian Stacey A. Aldrich said in a news release. “Libraries are here to make sure no one is left behind in the digital world.”
Digital Navigators provide free, one-on-one assistance with everyday technology needs, including building basic digital skills, learning how to use specific devices, staying safe online and protecting privacy, filling out online forms and applications, setting up and managing email, searching and applying for jobs, connecting with family and friends, and accessing telehealth services.
Appointments can be scheduled online at https://book.mapunawai.com/island or by calling a local public library.
