Applications for the state’s free public prekindergarten program for the 2026-27 school year are now open, the Executive Office on Early Learning announced.

The program serves eligible children ages 3 and 4 in the two years before kindergarten. EOEL partners with the Hawaii Department of Education to offer classes statewide and currently operates 117 classrooms on 89 DOE campuses.

Families may apply online at earlylearning.ehawaii.gov. Information on eligibility, classroom locations and enrollment timelines is available at earlylearning.hawaii.gov.
