An evacuation warning notice for parts of Lahaina was downgraded to an advisory at 10:13 a.m. Sunday, March 15.
The notice had been issued due to flooding for the Wahikuli and Leialiʻi areas below Ka Laʻi Ola in Lahaina.
Overnight pumping by Maui County crews was successful in keeping the retention basins at safe levels, according to MEMA. Crews have been working to redirect overflow and actively pumping water from the basin to help keep levels safe.
