On Monday, the Maui County Department of Water Supply lifted the Stage 1 water shortage for the Upcountry service area and the Stage 2 water shortage for the West Maui service area.
The Upcountry Maui service area covers Makawao, Upper and Lower Kula, Haiku, Pukalani, Kokomo, Kaupakalua, Ulumalu, Keokea, Ulupalakua and Kanaio.
The West Maui service area covers Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahana, Mahinahina, Napili-Honokowai and Honokohau.
The county said recent rainfall from the strong storm has significantly improved surface water conditions across Maui County and raised reservoir levels.
"We know this has been a difficult period for many across Maui County, and we are grateful to our customers for working alongside us during the drought," said John Stufflebean, director of the Department of Water Supply. "With water restrictions now lifted, we remain focused on maintaining reliable service and addressing storm-related impacts as quickly and safely as possible."
Crews are also assessing and repairing storm-related damage to water infrastructure and preparing for the possibility of additional rainfall later this week.
The department said it may issue notifications regarding service interruptions, conservation requests or water quality advisories through its News Flash notifications. People can sign up for the notifications at mauicounty.gov/list.aspx.
