Applicants invited to information session for Environmental Protection and Sustainability grants

The county is inviting applicants for its Environmental Protection and Sustainability Division grants program, which has an estimated $3.9 million available across four categories, to an upcoming informational session.

Funding will be offered for highway beautification, recycling, environmental protection and green projects and wetlands restoration. The program aims to support initiatives that promote sustainability and resilience while addressing climate change impacts. Projects incorporating traditional Hawaiian practices are encouraged.

An informational session for applicants will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at the EPS conference room at 2145 Wells St., Suite 305, in Wailuku, and online via Microsoft Teams. Grant applications are available for download at //www.mauicounty.gov/2725/Environmental-Protection-Sustainability. The deadline to apply is May 22.
