Maui-based author Alana Kysar will host a book signing May 8 at Hana Hou by Hale Zen in Lahaina to celebrate the release of her new cookbook, “Aloha Veggies.”

The event, scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., is open to the public and will include a meet-and-greet with the author, book signings and complimentary pupu. Copies of “Aloha Veggies” and Kysar’s earlier cookbook, “Aloha Kitchen,” will be available for purchase.

Released April 28, “Aloha Veggies” features more than 100 vegetable-focused recipes inspired by local flavors and ingredients. Hana Hou by Hale Zen, located in Emerald Plaza, reopened in November 2024 after the original store was destroyed in the August 2023 Lahaina wildfire.
