Man charged with murdering his father held without bail
A man accused of killing his father is scheduled to have a bail hearing in Maui Circuit Court on April 22.
James Edwin Moser, 36, is being held without bail on a charge of second-degree murder in the death of his father, James Paul Moser, 64.
James Edwin Moser is accused of stabbing his father multiple times at about 2 p.m. March 29 at the father’s home in Kihei.
Officers responding to the scene found the 64-year-old man unresponsive inside the home with apparent stab wounds. Despite life-saving measures, James Paul Moser succumbed to his injuries at the scene, police said.
Police said the 36-year-old was located on the property and taken into custody after officers issued commands and used less lethal force.
