Maui police launch ‘Put the Phone Away or Pay’ campaign
As part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Maui Police Department will enforce zero tolerance for distracted driving, especially cell phone use.
Enforcement runs April 6-13, with increased patrols, including unmarked vehicles, as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Put the Phone Away or Pay” campaign.
MPD urges drivers to stay focused, put the phone down and buckle up to help prevent senseless, avoidable crashes on Maui roadways.
