Parade entries open for the 2026 Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pā‘ū Parade

People, businesses and community organizations are being invited to take part in the annual the 2026 Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pā’ū Parade and Ho’olaule’a on June 20 in Central Maui.

The parade will be on Kaahumanu Avenue, followed by a ho’olaule’a at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center.

This year’s Hawaii-wide theme, “E Kū, E Ho’ololi” reflects an effort to “stand upright and change (unpleasant) conditions.”

Parade applications are open, and interested participants must submit their entries by May 29. To apply and review parade rules, judging criteria, and other details, go to festivalsofaloha.org/kamehameha.

The parade route will begin at Maui Lani Parkway and proceed east along Ka’ahumanu Avenue toward Kahului Beach Road.

Participants can enter the parade under a handful of categories, including floats, decorated vehicles, marching units and walking units.

Entry divisions are divided into commercial for businesses and for-profit entities with a $50 entry fee and for noncommercial groups such as nonprofits, schools and community groups without an entry fee.

“I truly hoped to return to Lahaina this year,” event coordinator Daryl Fujiwara said. “As the community continues to heal and Front Street rebuilds, we will holomua in Central Maui and welcome all to join us in honoring the legacy of Kamehameha I and his lineage.”

Ka’ahumanu Avenue will be closed between Lunalilo Street and Kane Street/Kahului Beach Road from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 20. All feeder streets along the way will not be accessible including Maui Lani Parkway, Mahalani Street, Kanaloa Avenue, South Papa Avenue, Wahinepio Avenue and South Wakea Avenue.

When planning a parade entry, applicants should ensure it reflects the dignity, pride and cultural significance of the special occasion.

Starting at $4.62/week.
