South Kihei Road will be closed between Ohukai Road and Kulanihakoi Street from April 20 to June 20 for repairs.

The road was damaged during the kona storms in March. According to the Maui County Department of Public Works, the closure will allow crews to fix storm-related washouts and roadway damage after previous work addressed damage to South Kihei Road between North Kihei Road and Ohukai Road.

While the route is being repaired, only local access will be allowed. Through traffic should expect delays and follow detour signs via Ohukai Road, Kenolio Road, Kaonoulu Street, Piilani Highway and Kulanihakoi Street.
