Scouting America, Aloha Council elects new leadership

Scouting America’s Aloha Council has elected Yvette Maskrey as board president, making her the first woman to hold the position in the council’s history.

The election took place at the organization’s annual membership meeting, according to a news release.

The council also elected additional board members and district leaders, including Glenn Kitagawa, who was named Maui Nui District chair.

Kitagawa has more than 20 years of experience in logistics and operations and more than a decade of involvement in Scouting, including roles as Cubmaster, assistant Scoutmaster and district chair. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Scouting America, Aloha Council serves more than 4,000 youth statewide through programs including Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Venturing and Exploring. For more, go to ScoutingHawaii.org.
