FEMA, SBA add Maui County recovery center dates and locations

Residents affected by the March kona low flooding can continue receiving in-person disaster assistance from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration at recovery centers across Maui County.

The agencies announced updated schedules and additional locations for survivors impacted by flooding that occurred March 10-24 in Maui, Hawaii and Honolulu counties.

FEMA specialists are available to help eligible homeowners and renters apply for assistance, update applications and understand documentation requests, inspections and appeals. SBA representatives are also available to help homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits apply for low-interest disaster loans for property damage and repairs.

On Maui, the South Maui Community Park Gymnasium in Kihei will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 12.

On Molokai, assistance is available at the Molokai State Offices in Kaunakakai from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays through June 4.

Additional assistance will be offered June 9-11 at the Lanikeha Community Center Digital Laboratory in Hoolehua from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A FEMA and SBA outreach event is also planned from 5-9 p.m. June 13 during the Molokai Yacht Club Hoolaulea at Kaunakakai Wharf.

Residents do not need appointments but are encouraged to bring a photo ID, insurance information, their damaged property address and disaster-related documents.

Officials said impacted residents can also apply for assistance or update claims online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.

The deadline to apply for federal assistance is June 14.
