Former Maui resident becomes Superior Court commissioner

Former Maui resident Sarah L. Moen recently was appointed as a commissioner to the King County Superior Court in Seattle.

Moen joins Judge Patrick Oishi of Maui High School’s Class of 1985 as the second judicial officer from Maui to serve on the largest trial court in Washington state.

Before joining the bench, Moen spent 25 years practicing law in the area of complex fiduciary administrations and related litigation.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Washington in 1997, a Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School in 2000 and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2001.

A 1990 graduate of Seabury Hall, Moen is the daughter of Guy (Rowena) Moen of Haiku and Eydie (Al) Treutler of Bullhead City, Arizona (formerly of Maui and Lanai City).
