AAA employees visiting Maui assembled and donated 102 bicycles for foster youth across Maui County during a community service project Friday at the Hyatt Regency Kaanapali.
Maui United Way brought together 175 AAA employees from across the nation for the bike-building event, which was part community service project and part team-building exercise.
The employees were divided into teams and took part in a friendly bike-building competition before the completed bicycles were distributed through community partners serving foster youth across Maui County.

Maui United Way said the bicycles will go to foster youth, including keiki in Hana and children displaced by the 2023 wildfires.
Maui United Way is also supporting the Stuff the Bus school supplies drive set for July 12 at Raising Cane’s in Kahului.
Since 1945, Maui United Way has worked to support communities in Maui County through partnerships, direct services, advocacy and funding. Its focus areas include financial security, healthy communities, youth opportunity and community resiliency.
