The Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation has announced temporary closures at facilities in West Maui and Central Maui later this month.

The basketball court at Napili Park will be closed from June 22 through July 3 for resurfacing work. The project includes cleaning the court, sealing cracks, resurfacing and restriping court lines. All other areas of the park will remain open, although visitors may experience intermittent construction noise.

The basketball court at Richard “Pablo” Caldito Park in Waihee also will be closed from June 22 through July 3 for similar resurfacing work. The remainder of the park will stay open during normal operating hours.

In Central Maui, the Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku will close from 9 a.m. to noon June 25 for lifeguard recruitment testing. The pool will reopen from noon to 4 p.m. for lap and recreational swimming.
