Credit unions golf tournament to benefit Maui Junior Golf
The Credit Unions of Maui will hold their 11th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 25 at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course, with proceeds benefiting the Maui Junior Golf Association.
The tournament will feature four-person teams competing in a modified scramble format. Registration begins at 5:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. The cost is $175 per player and includes green fees, a cart and two mulligans. The registration deadline is July 11.
Participants will have opportunities to compete in par-3 contests and on-course games, and will receive a post-tournament lunch from Tante’s Cafe. Prize giveaways and door prizes also are planned. Organizers said golfers who register by June 19 will be entered into special early-bird drawings.
Founded in 1960, the Maui Junior Golf Association is a nonprofit organization that promotes golf opportunities for youth of all ages and skill levels. According to organizers, tournament proceeds will help support programs designed to keep golf accessible to Maui youth regardless of financial circumstances.
The Credit Unions of Maui coalition includes Kahului Federal Credit Union, Maui Fed Credit Union, Maui County Federal Credit Union, Maui Teachers Federal Credit Union, Valley Isle Community Federal Credit Union and Wailuku Federal Credit Union. The group said its annual tournaments have raised more than $301,000 for local nonprofits since 2014.
