A structure fire in Haiku on Wednesday destroyed a carport and storage shed, according to the Maui Fire Department.
Firefighters responded at 7:29 p.m. to the 600 block of Mopua Street, where they found a partially enclosed carport and storage shed fully engulfed in flames.
Crews deployed multiple hose lines to extinguish the fire and protect nearby residences.
No one was displaced and no injuries were reported.
The fire was brought under control at 7:52 p.m. and extinguished at 9:50 p.m. The incident concluded at 10 p.m.
The cause remains under investigation, though fire officials said the blaze may have started while gasoline was being transferred from one container to another inside the structure.
