Pāʻele Kiakona

The Hawaii Government Employees Association has endorsed Green Party candidate Pāʻele Kiakona in the race for Hawaii House District 14.

Kiakona, a Lahaina native, community organizer and advocate for Lahaina Strong, is running on a platform that includes housing opportunities for local residents, support for working families and community-led recovery efforts in West Maui. The new endorsement comes after ILWU Local 142 announced its support for Kiakona last month.

“I am deeply grateful to receive the endorsement of HGEA,” Kiakona said in a statement. “Our county workers, educators, health professionals, and public servants have been the backbone of West Maui’s recovery, and I don’t take lightly the trust they are placing in this campaign.”
