Kihei Elementary principal to speak at Rotary meeting
Kihei Elementary School Principal Sue Forbes will discuss the school's efforts to support student achievement and develop future educators during a presentation Wednesday at the Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea.
The meeting will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Kihei Charter School, located at 650 Lipoa Parkway in Kihei. A social gathering with snacks and drinks will follow. The public is invited to attend in person or online through a Zoom link available at mauirotary.org.
Forbes, who has lived on Maui for 22 years, previously taught fourth grade at Kihei Elementary for a decade before serving as an instructional coach and vice principal. She returned to the school as principal last year.
According to event organizers, Forbes will discuss Kihei Elementary's commitment to academic achievement and providing students with opportunities in music, art, physical education, Hawaiian studies, computer science and library programs. She also will highlight efforts to support the next generation of educators.
