The Maui County Department of Water Supply will close a section of Makawao Avenue between Baldwin Avenue and Makani Road overnight from June 16-18 to conduct waterline repair work.

The closure will allow local traffic only from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on June 16, 17 and 18. During the closure, through traffic will be detoured via Olinda Road, Hanamu Road, Meha Road and Kealaloa Avenue.

Brief interruptions to water service may occur during the work period. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and use caution when traveling in the area.
