Maui County FCU, Salvation Army launch school supply drive

Maui County Federal Credit Union and The Salvation Army have launched their annual Adopt a Backpack school supply drive to help students across Maui County prepare for the upcoming school year.

Now through July 18, community members can donate new school supplies or monetary contributions at any Maui County FCU branch in Kahului, Lahaina or Wailuku. Donations will support the Adopt a Backpack program, which assists students and families facing financial hardship.

Needed supplies include backpacks, pencils and pens, notebooks, folders, crayons, markers, glue sticks and scissors.Donation drop-off locations include:

• Kahului branch, Maui Marketplace, 270 Dairy Road — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday

• Lahaina branch, 270 Lahainaluna Road — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

• Wailuku branch, 224 Kehalani Village Drive — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
