Paia home destroyed in fire

A single-family home in Paia was destroyed in a fire Saturday night, according to the Maui County Fire Department.
Firefighters were called at 8:23 p.m. to the 500 block of Pili Loko Street, where they arrived to find a single-story, single-family dwelling fully involved in flames.
Crews extended hose lines to extinguish the fire and protect neighboring homes.
No occupants were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The occupants are believed to be off island, according to the department.
The fire was under control at 8:45 p.m. and extinguished at 10 p.m. The incident concluded at midnight.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
