UH Manoa ranked among world’s top universities
The University of Hawaii at Manoa has been ranked among the top universities in the 2026-27 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings.
UH Manoa ranked No. 110 nationally and No. 482 worldwide, placing in the top 2% of universities globally and the top 4.3% nationally, according to the rankings released June 16.
Several academic disciplines also received high marks, including marine and freshwater biology at No. 20 and meteorology and atmospheric sciences at No. 42. Other highly ranked subjects included space science, geosciences, arts and humanities, and ecology.
The rankings evaluate universities based largely on research performance, global and regional reputation, publications and citations.
“These recognitions reflect the dedication of our faculty, students and staff to advancing knowledge that serves Hawaiʻi, the Pacific and communities around the world,” incoming UH Manoa Chancellor and interim Provost Vassilis L. Syrmos said in a statement.
