Central Maui residents are invited to a Pili Nā Moku listening and visioning session from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at the University of Hawaii Maui College.
Hosted by the University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program, the session will bring together residents, community organizations and cultural practitioners to discuss priorities for protecting Central Maui's natural and cultural resources.
The event also will include information about a community funding opportunity that will provide up to $1.4 million for locally led biocultural stewardship and resilience projects. The meeting is open to the public, and attendance is not required to apply for future funding. Advance registration is encouraged.
